This Monday, 20th of April, a teacher was killed at a school in Barcelona. It was a very sad new, so from our school we wanted to remember him, and yesterday (21st of April) we kept a minute of silence in his memory.
We appeared on TV and on the newspaper.

Memory of our project.
During this contest we have made a lot of activities, videos... but now you are going to read a summary of our initiative:
1.WHAT'S OUR PROJECT ABOUT?
As we explained in our first post http://newropeansspain.blogspot.com.es/2015_03_01_archive.html, this year is the European Year For Development and we decided to choose "education for population" as our slogan, because everybody deserves an education, and if we want a better future it's necessary to have one. We wanted to help so we did different activities trying to help the most needed.
2.WHAT DID WE DO?
At our school:
-First we prepared the test by reading and studying "gacetas euroscolos".And on 18th March we did it.
-After, we started to prepare a collection of school supplies, from 3 years old children to 16 years old teenagers.
We showed two different power points to all the classes, one about the education and another one about the European Union and the education. We convince everybody about the importance of having one.
-A day later, all the students gave us their school supplies, we filled more tan 4 big boxes! (We are going to send them to a poor school in Congo)
They also took some photos and videos supporting "education for population"

Why #educationforpopulation?
We have chosen the slogan education for population because we think that if we have the right to go to school and learn, every single kid in the world has that right too. Kids are the future, and if we want to have a good future, we have to give kids better life conditions and education.
We already knew that in some places it is difficult for children to have an education, but when we did some research on it and we saw that it was a lot more than just a matter of cultural differences, we thought that it isn't fair at all and we wanted to do something about it. Even if we knew that we can't help every child in the world, we wanted to participate.
We have tried to make as many people as possible be aware of this problem so we can fight it all together.

Why @euroscola?
Here is why we chose to participate in Euroscola:
Some months ago, two of our teachers told us about this project and explained us everything about it. They made us understand that if we wanted to participate, we had to be willing to work hard.
We accepted, especially because we wanted to know more about Europe and we felt the urge to get a little bit more involved with it.
Last year, some of the members of Newropeans participated in the Comenius Project. They went to Turkey and they met people from Poland, Italy and Germany. They were hosted by turkish families, so they got to know their culture. They had such a great time, and we thought that if we won Euroscola, we could have another awesome experience.

The students we met in Turkey have been very interested in our project and they have helped us a lot. That is why schools from different countries are supporting us. They have taken advantage of it and they have done their own activities at their schools, so maybe next year they participate in Euroscola too!
Volunteer.

Helping Federico Quirós Gil.
Federico is a Spanish priest who is working in Congo, helping the poorest. We're going to send him the school supplies that we collected two weeks ago. We also sent him some questions, but he couldn't send us a video answering them, because of wifi problems, but he promised us that he will send us it soon, and we promise you that we'll post it here as soon as possible.
We're very happy to help them, and we hope the children can take advantage of the supplies that we collected.

On the radio, RomMurcia.
On the morning of 9th of April, our mates Lucía and Manolo, members of Newropeans, and Jesús and María, from the group Eurocool, have been to the radio romMurcia with a member of Europe Direct. It's Bando de la Huerta!
On 7th of April it wasn't only World Health Day...It was Bando de la Huerta too. Bando de la Huerta is a traditional festival of Murcia where everybody wears the same clothes as Murcian people wore a lot of years ago. It's a very interesting and fun festival and we decided to keep supporting #educationforpopulation, so each one took a photo of him/her or his/her family supporting it.
